At the CSRD e.V. roundtable in Munich, the current problems in protecting critical infrastructure were discussed. Dr. Michael Ebner, CISO & Director Information Security at EnBW, gave the keynote and gave a practical insight into the challenges posed by commercially and politically motivated hacker attacks. Richard Wieneke from Corelight described the role of open source technology in attack detection in his speech. In the subsequent panel together with Hans-Wilhelm Dünn, President of CSRD e.V., it became clear that security by design and reliability must also be taken into account by manufacturers and suppliers and that exchange within and between companies is of great importance for increasing cybersecurity.
