Third-party risk: How secure are my business partners and suppliers really?
Yesterday, we launched our Third Party Risk Management Hub at the kick-off meeting in Berlin. Our increasingly connected and digital world brings with it an increased risk of security incidents. A critical challenge for large enterprises is to be transparent about the security practices of all partners and ensure that they meet their own high standards.
As President Hans-Wilhelm Dünn explained at the kick-off meeting, the Hub focuses on identifying and mitigating these risks, particularly as they relate to third-party data security.
In his keynote speech, Arslan Brömme, National Information Security Officer at Vattenfall, emphasized the relevance of the topic, especially for companies operating internationally.
As Thibault Lapédagne, Head of Cybersecurity Research at CyberVadis and head of the new hub, explained, the hub will help companies shape the ongoing process of securing third-party vendors.
Together with our members and competence partners, we will develop practical methods and guidelines in the coming sessions to help companies ensure the security of their third-party providers strategically and in the long term.
