The first Thursday in May is always the annual global World Password Day, which draws worldwide attention to the importance of secure passwords for companies but also for individuals.
Studies show that 10,000 of the most common passwords provide access to 98% of all accounts. In other words, most people still use the same simple passwords – and many of them for years. On the occasion of World Password Day 2020, we would like to appeal once again to everyone to use strong passwords.
“Use passwords that are as complex as possible and never standard passwords, change them if necessary and use different passwords for different accesses. Technologies such as two-factor authentication or biometrics can provide additional security,” says Hans-Wilhelm Dünn, President of CSRD e.V.
