Due to the current corona pandemic, many people all over the world have to work from home. Especially when the systems used for this purpose are still new and unfamiliar, remote work offers cybercriminals additional attack surfaces, which they try to exploit through techniques like phishing or social engineering. Especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with limited IT budgets and little experience in the topic of secure mobile work, the protection against such attacks poses major challenges. Therefore, the Cyber-Security Council Germany supports the campaign “Work From Home. Secure Your Business.” of the Global Cybersecurity Alliance (GCA).
“The campaign offers free, pragmatic and easily accessible support via a homepage with tips and toolkits as well as a community forum for everyone, who needs practical and uncomplicated help regarding cybersecurity when working from home,” explains Hans-Wilhelm Dünn, president of the Cyber Security Council Germany.
