March 31st is the annual World Backup Day, which draws global attention to the importance of regular digital backups for businesses as well as for each individual. “Regular backups are part of the fundamental basics of cybersecurity. Especially when systems need to be shut down due to an incident or when data is lost, it is essential that a comprehensive backup is available in order to be able to restart again as soon as possible. Despite this fundamental relevance, we unfortunately still experience far too often that companies as well as private individuals still take insufficient care about their digital backups. Therefore, once again our appeal: Back up your data regularly and comprehensively. Otherwise: No Backup, no pity!” appeals Hans-Wilhelm Dünn, President of the Cyber-Security Council Germany.
